Reporting for EC grants
You must submit financial and technical or scientific reports throughout your project and within 60 days of its send date.
These reports have strict deadlines – check Article 20 or the Data Sheet of your grant agreement for your reporting periods.
The ‘Continuous Reporting Module’ is available in the EU Funding and Tenders Portal throughout the lifetime of a project.
Audits of financial statements
If you’re claiming direct costs of more than €325,000 (Horizon 2020 grants) or €430,000 (Horizon Europe grants), your financial statement might need to be audited. The Compliance Team in the Research Operations Office will arrange this with you.
You should also read our guidance about interim audits (PDF, 210 KB).
VAT
VAT is an eligible cost in EC programmes when it is non recoverable.
If a beneficiary cannot reclaim VAT, it can be included as part of the eligible costs in the financial report.
Scientific reporting guidance
The European Research Council has published guidance on scientific reporting for grantees (PDF, 1.2 MB).
