Animal research

If you research involves animals, you should carry out your duties in a responsible and caring manner. You'll need to comply with:

• the university's Animal Welfare policy
• the Concordat on Openness on Animal Research
• ARRIVE (Animal Research: Reporting In Vivo Experiments) Guidelines
• Laboratory Animal Science Association (LASA) Guidelines
• the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 (ASPA 1986)

If you're concerned about the welfare of an animal on a research project, you should report your concern through our Whistleblowing policy.
